4rth Grade Ceremony

Can’t believe how big our 4rth graders look! They have all grown so much this year. We know the teens are just around the corner.

4rth grade has been a wonderful year. We have had great teachers, grown in friendships, had our first overnight camp experience, grown in faith, and they learned a lot. Caleb has continued to grow more and more interested in History and Bible. He would say those are his favorite subjects, outside of P.E., of course. He is also a strong Math and Science student. We could not be more proud of him.

Every year end, the teachers award the kids with a Christian attribute that they have exemplified throughout the year. This year, Caleb received Consistent:

“Therfore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.”

1 Corinthians 15:58

Caleb was also awarded a Citizenship Award in his class.

Look out, this is our future…. Love them.

Glad Mimi could come watch.

4rth Grade Auction

Our 4rth Grade teachers are very clever. They used a reward system throughout the year where the kids could “earn” some (fake) money while also teaching them to use a checkbook. At the end of the year, the kids get to use their money in an Auction. They have anticipated this all year.

All the loot waiting to be claimed:

Our hardworking auctioneering Moms:

Let the games begin:

I am so glad that I came to this. It was so fun. I also witnessed some acts of kindness that I had not anticipated. Several of the kids did not have as much money as the rest. I watched as some compassionate kiddos would go through their things and hand toys over to those that had less. This happened over and over again.

Foodies and Such

Maho Bay Camp. We can’t say enough about it. It is such a special place. We love going to dinner there in the evenings and watching the Sunset. It is very much a camp setting. You have to bus your own tables and get yourself a salad and drink. The food is very good and we feel it is a great value on the island. For us and for many others, it is much more than the food. It is a place where good people are that appreciate what St. John is and are trying to sustain it. Unique. Precious. Rare.

Vies.  Seriously Good Food. Worth the drive. Worth the wait. So good!

Sun Dog Cafe: Another good find and value. BBQ sandwich and Veggie Quesadilla is really good.

Joes Rum Hut. Great for after a day at the beach. We enjoyed the food, music, and the sunset.

Rhumb Lines: Best splurge on the island… My favorite favorite place. We are addicted to their fritters. So Good.

St. John Fun Fact:

This is how you taxi here.
